Where does faith come from? The Holy Spirit produces it in our hearts by the preaching of the holy gospel, and confirms it by the use of the holy sacraments.

Jesus, the Son of God through his Spirit and Word, out of the entire human race, from the beginning of the world to its end, gathers, protects, and preserves for himself a community chosen for eternal life and united in true faith.

In Christ I am righteous before God and inherit life everlasting.

The Resurrection of the Dead is a Comfort because not only will my soul be taken immediately after this life to Christ its head, but also my very flesh will be raised by the power of Christ, reunited with my soul, and made like Christ’s glorious body.

The Spirit, with the Father and the Son, is eternal God and is given to us, so that through true faith, he will cause us to share in Christ and all his gifts, comfort us, and will stay with us forever.

In all distress and persecution, with uplifted head, I confidently await the very judge who has already offered himself to the judgment of God in my place and removed the whole curse from me.

How does Christ’s ascension to heaven

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Peter 1:3–5)

Since Christ has died for us, why do we still have to die?

Our death does not pay the debt of our sins. Rather, it puts an end to our sinning and is our entrance into eternal life.

Jesus died shouldering the weight of the curse which condemned us.

For all those led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear.
